James Bond casting round set for August auditions

Producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, together with director Denis Villeneuve, have begun contacting actors who advanced past the first auditions for the next James Bond film. The second casting round is scheduled for August, with Villeneuve personally reaching out to a small, undisclosed number of candidates—reports vary between five to seven or potentially more.

Casting director Nina Gold, who joined the team in April, is leading the process, focusing on emerging talent. Rumoured names include Callum Turner, Harris Dickinson and Jacob Elordi, although no confirmations have been made. The overall casting effort started in spring 2025, and the producers aim to finalize the lead role by the end of the year, paving the way for filming to begin in 2027.
