James Bond franchise moves forward with new film reboot as TV competition series cancelled

Amazon MGM Studios is developing a new James Bond film that will launch a continuity separate from the Daniel Craig era. Director Denis Villeneuve and writer Steven Knight are attached, and casting director Nina Gold is leading the search for the next Bond.

The reality‑competition series "007: Road To a Million" on Prime Video will not continue beyond its two seasons. The show, hosted by Brian Cox, faced high production costs and mixed fan reception, leading Amazon to halt plans for a third season.

Separately, IO Interactive's video‑game "007 First Light" starring Patrick Gibson as a young Bond has sold nearly three million copies in its first two weeks, adding to a wave of new Bond novels and other media releases.
