James, Earl of Wessex, works as farmhand at Sandringham

James, the Earl of Wessex, is working as a farmhand at King Charles III’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk this summer. The 18-year-old, son of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has been seen operating tractors on the property.

The Sandringham estate covers approximately 2,700 hectares of farmland that produces grains like wheat, rye, and spelt, and manages roughly 1,200 livestock. The estate transitioned to organic farming in 2017 under the King's direction.

Estate workers noted the contrast between the Earl's usual formal appearance at royal functions and his current manual labor. James is currently 16th in the line of succession and is awaiting his A-level results.
