Jammu and Kashmir authorities prepare for major religious pilgrimages

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are finalizing preparations for major religious pilgrimages, including the 18th annual Harmuk Gangbal Yatra and the Budha Amarnath Yatra.

For the Harmuk Gangbal Yatra, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg has directed various departments to ensure adequate security, medical support, and essential facilities such as drinking water, electricity, and sanitation. The three-day pilgrimage, organized by the Harmuk Ganga Gangbal Trust, is expected to host between 150 and 200 pilgrims. Security agencies and the State Disaster Response Force have been tasked with ensuring a safe environment for the rituals.

Simultaneously, the Budha Amarnath Yatra is proceeding in the Rajouri district under tight security. The Health Department has established 24/7 medical camps, night-duty teams, and ambulance services along the route to provide immediate assistance and first aid to devotees. Local medical officials confirmed that these facilities are positioned at key halting points to address any health emergencies during the journey.
