Jammu and Kashmir International Film Festival draws 875 submissions from 50 countries
The inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) is scheduled for September 7‑10, 2026. Organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations in partnership with the National Film Development Corporation, the four‑day event aims to position the region as a vibrant hub for cinema and cultural exchange.
As of July 29 the festival has received 875 film entries submitted by creators from roughly 50 nations. The submission window remains open until July 30, giving filmmakers a final chance to register. The programme will feature film screenings, master‑classes, panel discussions and other interactive sessions, promoting artistic excellence and showcasing the region’s heritage to a global audience. A curtain‑raiser ceremony was held earlier in July to launch the festival.
The strong international response underscores growing confidence in Jammu and Kashmir’s potential for film production and creative collaboration.
