Indian police bust major counterfeit dairy and packaging rackets
Law enforcement agencies in India have conducted major raids targeting counterfeit food production and packaging rackets in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
In Jaipur, the Police Commissionerate dismantled a large-scale operation in the Jhotwara Industrial Area. Authorities arrested three individuals, including a mastermind, and seized massive quantities of fake packaging materials designed to mimic renowned ghee brands. The seizure included over 61,000 empty cartons and poly packs, along with printing equipment and distribution vehicles.
In Gujarat, the Rajkot Range and Jamnagar Police targeted synthetic dairy production. In the Kalavad region, police seized approximately 7,150 liters of suspected adulterated milk, 120 kilograms of ghee vanaspati, and 15 kilograms of milk powder. A separate raid by the Special Operation Group (SOG) at a residential property in Kalavad uncovered an additional 1,200 liters of suspected milk, 75 kilograms of vegetable ghee, and 75 kilograms of milk powder. Food safety officials seized samples and destroyed the remaining stocks to prevent public health risks.
