Jan Roose to perform high-altitude slackline walk in Seoul

Three-time world slackline champion Jan Roose will attempt a high-altitude slackline performance in Seoul on October 1. The event, sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by Red Bull Korea, marks the first high-altitude slackline performance in South Korea.

Roose will walk a 160-meter long line suspended 120 meters above the ground, connecting the rooftops of the Korea Na Hotel and the Dong-A Media Center in the Gwanghwamun area. The athlete, known for crossing the Strait of Messina and performing double backflips on a line, expressed interest in the event after being inspired by traditional Korean tightrope walking during a visit in 2022.

The performance is scheduled for two sessions at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Spectators can watch the event via large outdoor electronic displays at the site or through a live stream on the Seoul Metropolitan Government's YouTube channel. Additionally, public experience programs including low-height slackline zones, skateboarding, and breaking performances will be held at Cheonggye Plaza.
