Jantar Mantar police crackdown demands Supreme Court probe

Odisha Congress leader Santosh Singh Saluja has voiced strong support for Rahul Gandhi’s demand for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the police action against students and Gen-Z protesters at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

Saluja described the use of lathis and tear gas against peaceful demonstrators as shameful, noting that the protesters' demands were significant enough to lead to the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. He criticized the central government for failing to provide satisfactory answers regarding the incident, which occurred approximately 20 days ago.

Furthermore, Saluja questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have not addressed the matter in Parliament. He alleged that opposition attempts to bring the issue to the floor through adjournment motions are being blocked and claimed that the Lok Sabha Speaker is being controlled, undermining democratic processes.
