Japan celebrates chestnut season with limited Mont Blanc releases and exhibitions
Several chestnut-themed dessert events and product launches are taking place in Japan. Juchheim is releasing a limited edition ‘Waguri Kinton Mont Blanc’ cake, with only 10,000 units available nationwide. This product is a collaboration with Ishii Food, utilizing non-standard Japanese chestnuts produced during the manufacturing of chestnut rice ingredients. The dessert features eight layers, including two types of mont blanc cream, cassis, and nuts. It will be available starting October 10, 2026, at select locations including Kobe, Osaka, Tokyo, and other regions.
Separately, the Hanshin Umeda Main Store in Osaka is hosting the ‘Hanshin Mont Blanc Exhibition Vol. 3’ from October 7 to October 12. The event features nine selected shops from across Japan, offering a variety of items ranging from casual sweets under 1,000 yen to premium desserts priced around 3,000 yen. Highlights include freshly prepared mont blanc demonstrations, specialty parfaits, and various baked goods such as chestnut financiers and pies.
