Japan convenes universities for Fukushima reconstruction and health education initiatives

On 28‑29 August 2024 the Fukushima Innovation‑Coast Promotion Organization hosted a kickoff meeting for its new "Reconstruction Knowledge" project. Twenty‑four selected universities will collaborate on research and education in fields such as radiation, agriculture, robotics, drones and energy, presenting their plans in a report session and poster exhibition, followed by a student workshop.

On 19 August 2024 the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology held a free health‑education training session in Tokyo, open to up to 200 on‑site participants and 3,000 online viewers. The program featured a keynote on curriculum guidelines and lectures on teaching methods and assessment, aiming to strengthen health‑literacy education in primary and secondary schools.
