Japan Financial Education Support Organization holds 4th FES Contest

The Japan Financial Education Support Organization is conducting the 4th FES Contest, a nationwide initiative where junior and senior high school students create 45 to 60-second financial education videos designed to be understood by elementary school students.

To support the competition, workshops are being held across Japan, including recent sessions in Fukuoka Prefecture and Suginami Ward, Tokyo. These workshops teach students the ‘eight powers of money’—using, earning, paying, saving, preparing, giving, borrowing, and increasing—and involve collaboration between students, university supporters, and local corporations such as Nishi-Nippon City Bank and Japan Post Bank.

In an effort to foster intergenerational learning, the organization is recruiting elementary school students to serve as judges for regional award ceremonies across 11 regions, including Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. These young judges will watch finalist videos, listen to presentations, and provide feedback, helping to create a cycle of financial literacy that spans different age groups.
