Japan honored at 90th Thessaloniki International Fair

Japan is the honored country at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), driving significant interest in both economic and cultural spheres. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Enterprise Greece, and Export Credit Greece organized events on September 5 and 6 to strengthen Greek outward-looking business strategies and expand economic ties with the Japanese market.

During the event, officials presented financing and protection tools for both experienced and new exporters, highlighting sectors where Greek innovation and high added value can compete internationally. The session ‘Exporting Innovation to Japan’ showcased Greek companies already operating in the Japanese market.

Parallel to these economic efforts, the fair is seeing high visitor demand. Ticket sales for the event are surging across Greece, fueled by Japan’s presence and a major free concert by Antonis Remos. This combination of cultural interest and economic diplomacy is expected to draw large crowds to Thessaloniki, with high hotel occupancy rates reported.
