Japan hospitality news: Yahataya recognized and seven x seven Yufuin announced

The Japanese hospitality sector sees new developments with the recognition of Yahataya and the upcoming opening of seven x seven Yufuin.

Yatahaya, located in Bohata Onsen, Fukushima Prefecture, has been selected as one of the ‘Top 100 Hotels and Ryokans in Japan’ for 2027. The inn features various accommodations, including the ‘Kikyo-tei’ annex, which offers panoramic views of the Abukuma mountains and specialized open-air baths.

In Oita Prefecture, the luxury resort seven x seven Yufuin is scheduled to open in April 2027. The property will consist of 39 rooms, all equipped with private hot spring baths. High-end suites will include private saunas and outdoor pools. The resort will feature a thermal spa designed by Avanto Architects, marking the first time the Finnish firm has designed such a facility in Japan. Dining will be managed by the Isseki Sanshoku Group, offering a variety of cuisines including Wagyu, sushi, and Korean food.
