Japan issues food poisoning warnings amid heat and local outbreaks
Kumamoto Prefecture has issued its third food poisoning warning due to sustained high temperatures. As of August 19, the prefecture has recorded 6 cases involving 162 people. The warning is scheduled to remain in effect until August 26.
In Miyazaki Prefecture, a food poisoning incident involving Campylobacter was confirmed at a restaurant named Toriyasan in Hyuga City. Seven individuals reported symptoms such as fever and diarrhea after consuming undercooked chicken liver on August 11 and 12. The Hyuga City Health Center has ordered the establishment to suspend operations for three days, from August 21 to August 23. All affected patients are reportedly recovering.
