Japan national football teams announce youth squad selections
The Japan Football Association (JFA) has announced the 22-member squad for the U-17 national team to compete in the Limoges International tournament in France, starting September 19. Led by manager Nobuyoshi Ono, the squad includes notable players such as 196cm defender Ken Kawara, who was selected following participation in the JFA x SCO GROUP ‘FUTURE CAMP’ inspired by BLUE LOCK. This tournament serves as critical preparation for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar this November.
Separately, midfielder Tomoya Ozeki of Kawasaki Frontale has expressed his readiness to lead the U-21 Japan national team as they prepare for the upcoming Asian Games. Having previously contributed to Japan's victory in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, Ozeki emphasized the importance of team unity and leadership under the management of Tsuyoshi Oiwa. The upcoming tournament is viewed as a vital platform for players to demonstrate their capabilities to the senior national team coaching staff.
