Japan Olympic Committee to host Pokemon and athletes exhibition

The Japan Olympic Committee (JOC) and The Pokemon Company have announced a special exhibition titled 'Pokemon and Athletes' Moves Exhibition' to be held at the Japan Olympic Museum in Tokyo.

Running from September 19 to November 23, 2026, the event is part of the 'JOC Kids Sports Ambassador' initiative aimed at teaching children the joy of sports. The exhibition will feature 59 Pokemon selected from a pool of over 1,000 candidates, with each chosen to represent specific sporting disciplines. For example, Tinkaton is paired with golf, and Sneasel is paired with sports climbing.

The exhibition is divided into four themed sections: comparing the 'moves' of athletes and Pokemon, mimicking athletic poses, examining sports equipment alongside Pokemon tools, and participating in physical sports simulations. Visitors can also participate in a Pikachu-themed quiz rally to earn original stickers. Admission to the museum's first-floor Welcome Salon is free during the exhibition period.
