Japan police arrest two suspects for alcohol‑related vehicle crimes

In Fukuoka Prefecture, police arrested a self‑identified 15‑year‑old high‑school student after he rode a helmet‑less motorbike while intoxicated. Breath tests showed alcohol above the legal limit, and investigators are also looking into possible unlicensed driving and the ownership of the scooter.

In Wakayama Prefecture, a 36‑year‑old man was detained on suspicion of stealing a truck belonging to a former employer. He caused a property‑damage accident by colliding with a utility pole, and a breath test also detected alcohol. The suspect denied the theft, saying he intended to return the vehicle. No injuries were reported in either incident.
