In observance of Respect for the Aged Day in Japan, various regional and commercial activities are highlighting senior longevity and health.

In Achi Village, local officials conducted visits to celebrate residents reaching significant milestones, including four individuals turning 100 years old and 42 residents celebrating their 88th birthdays (beiju). Similarly, in Tochigi Prefecture, Governor Tomikazu Fukuda and Mayor Kazuo Ozaki visited Toyoko Sekimoto to present commemorative gifts for her 100th birthday.

On the commercial side, the body care brand Dr. Air has launched a limited-time gift campaign and social media initiative to encourage health-conscious gifting for the holiday. Their survey indicates that 59% of respondents view Respect for the Aged Day as an opportunity to consider the health of themselves and their loved ones.
