Japan rail services disrupted by wire breakage and heavy rain
Service on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line was significantly disrupted on Tuesday morning following a power outage caused by a broken overhead wire at Myoden Station. The incident led to a suspension of operations between Kasai and Nishi-Funabashi stations.
While some sections resumed service via turnaround operations, full service restoration was delayed until the evening. The disruption caused heavy congestion on local bus routes in the Ichikawa area as commuters attempted to bypass the rail lines.
Separately, heavy rain caused JR West to suspend operations on the Himeji Line between Harima-Shingu and Kozuke stations starting from early morning.
