On September 6, heavy rain prompted JR East to implement a planned suspension on the Tokaido Line between Odawara and Atami, citing landslide and debris risks in the mountainous terrain. While services between Tokyo and Odawara continued with reduced frequency, the Yamagata Shinkansen remained suspended between Fukushima and Shinjo. On the Tohoku Shinkansen, service between Nasushiobara and Utsunomiya was temporarily halted for approximately two and a half hours following a person-involved accident.
Further weather-related disruptions on September 6 included the suspension of the Chuo Line between Takao and Kobuchizawa, and the suspension of the Azusa limited express service on the Chuo East Line in Nagano. In Chiba, significant restrictions were reported on the Sobu Main Line, Uchibo Line, and the Sotobo and Togane lines. In Fukui, JR West partially resumed service on the Echizen Hokuriku Line with reduced frequency, though substitute buses continue to be utilized for certain sections.
