Japan railway festivals scheduled for October 2026

Multiple railway-themed festivals are scheduled to take place in Japan on October 17, 2026.

In Iwaki, the “Iwaki Railway Festival 2026” will be held around JR Iwaki Station from 9:30 to 16:00. The event features three distinct zones: a collection area with limited-edition station stamps and a rally, a shopping area at S-PAL Iwaki offering antique railway goods and station bento, and an experience area at the JR Iwaki crew base. Activities include driver and conductor simulators, children's station master uniform experiences, and appearances by the JR East mascot, Mukona-kun.

Simultaneously, the “Chiba Monorail Festival 2026” will be held at the Chiba Urban Monorail depot from 10:00 to 15:00. The event is free to enter, though it is subject to cancellation in the event of bad weather.
