Japan to host regional craft beer festivals in September 2026
Various craft beer festivals are scheduled to take place in Japan during September 2026, highlighting local breweries and regional specialties.
In Tokyo, the Koganei Beer Festival 2026 will be held from September 11 to September 13 at Festival Court. The event features 11 craft beer businesses, primarily from the Tama area, including Chuo Line Beer Works, which will serve a limited-edition Kuri Amber Ale. Food vendors will offer items such as grilled sausages, scallion pancakes, and Japanese-style gelato. Additionally, JR East will host a booth featuring a mock-up of a Chuo Line train to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Musashi-Koganei Station.
In Kyoto, the Yase Eiden Station Local Beer Festival 2026 will run from September 4 to September 6 at Yase-Hieizanguchi Station. Organized by Eizan Electric Railway, the festival utilizes the station’s historic 1925 wooden platform and stationary trains as drinking areas. The event will showcase a rotating selection of 10 breweries and local sakes, alongside food vendors serving items like seafood yakisoba and takoyaki. Special collaboration glassware with the ‘Hiei’ sightseeing train will also be available.
