Japan hosts various cultural and community festivals in 2026
Various cultural and community events are scheduled across Japan for late 2026.
In Tokyo, the ‘Meet Your Art Festival 2026’ will take place in the Tennozu area from October 9 to October 12. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the festival features over 150 artists and includes an art exhibition directed by Mirai Moriyama, art fairs, and live performances.
Other notable events include the ‘Ookini Matsuri 2026’ in Osaka, held at Ten-Shiba on August 29 and 30, featuring music, food, and dance. In Tottori, the ‘Chiyogawa Festival 2026’ is set for August 29 at the Hatto River Waterfront Plaza, offering activities such as raft boating and nature observation.
Additionally, the 59th ‘Gouka Rokyoku Taikai’ will be held on November 28 at the Edo-Tokyo Museum, focusing on the history and evolution of traditional Rokyoku storytelling. A ‘Disaster Prevention Festa 2026’ is also slated for the Tokyo Waterfront City Disaster Prevention Park.
