Typhoon 27 expected to approach Ogasawara Islands

Typhoon 27, a large and strong tropical cyclone, was located in the Mariana Islands as of the evening of October 3. The typhoon has a central pressure of 960 hPa and maximum wind speeds of 40 m/s, with gusts reaching 55 m/s.

Forecasts indicate the typhoon will approach the Ogasawara Islands with very strong intensity between October 5 and October 6. Residents in the Ogasawara Islands are advised to remain vigilant against heavy rain, high waves, and extremely strong winds. Additionally, coastal areas in the Kanto region may experience increased winds and rain around October 6.

While much of Japan is experiencing clear autumn weather on October 3, weather patterns are expected to shift. Rain is forecasted for western Japan toward the end of the week, and the approaching typhoon may cause high waves along the Pacific coast.
