Japanese beef bowl chains Matsuya and Yoshinoya launch discount campaigns

Major Japanese beef bowl chains are launching promotional discount campaigns.

Matsuya has released a one-week summer vacation support coupon via its official X account. The promotion offers a 70 yen discount on all sizes of its signature beef bowl (gyumeshi). The campaign runs from August 11 to August 18, 2026, at most locations nationwide, including 12 stores in Kobe. This initiative follows the early conclusion of a popular side dish fair at its affiliate brand, Matsunoya. The discount is not applicable to mobile orders, delivery, or drive-thru services.

Yoshinoya has also launched a takeout-only campaign running until August 27. The promotion offers discounts on multi-item purchases of regular-sized beef bowls. Customers can save up to 336 yen when purchasing a set of four bowls. The discount varies by quantity: 114 yen off for two bowls, 225 yen off for three, and 336 yen off for four. This campaign is available at most nationwide locations but excludes delivery services.
