Japanese confectioners launch seasonal autumn sweets

Various Japanese confectionery businesses are launching seasonal products to celebrate autumn.

Ginza Cozzy Corner will release a limited-edition chiffon cake called ‘Manmaru Tsuki Usagi’ starting September 11, 2026. Designed to evoke the Mid-Autumn Moon, the cake features custard, chocolate cream, and a condensed milk-flavored rabbit decoration. It will be available at participating stores until September 25.

In Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, the long-standing confectionary Nakao Seigetsudo is hosting its ‘Autumn Chestnut Festival’ beginning September 12, 2026. The festival features a variety of chestnut-based items, including chestnut daifuku, dorayaki, monaka, and chestnut okowa (seasoned rice). These seasonal offerings will be available through November 30, 2026.
