Japanese confectionery companies announce new seasonal products and retail events

Several Japanese confectionery companies have announced new seasonal products and retail initiatives.

Morinaga & Co., Ltd. is launching a variety of limited-time offerings. This includes the “Hanjuku Dars” series, featuring milk and strawberry chocolate with a soft, semi-liquid texture, scheduled for release on October 27. Additionally, the company is collaborating with Sanrio to release Chocoball products featuring characters such as Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and Pochacco. A new “Chocoball Double Chocolate” variety will also debut on November 4, accompanied by a promotional campaign for original merchandise.

In retail, Yoshitsuya Co., Ltd., in cooperation with Shimojima, will host a “Traveling Confectionery Museum” at the Shimojima Shinsaibashi store from November 1 to December 26. The event aims to showcase rare sweets from across Japan and features art and mascot appearances, providing an accessible way for consumers to enjoy diverse treats despite rising prices.
