Japan launches limited‑time summer shaved‑ice shops in Oita and Shizuoka

A seasonal shaved‑ice shop called “Koi Ori” opened inside the ENNICHI sweets LABO in Oita City, operating from 13 June to 30 September 2026. The shop highlights a “luxury melon” shave and a “premium strawberry – red happiness” flavor, served with salted vanilla espuma and a hidden almond ice core.

Meanwhile, the historic wagashi shop Taiichi‑an in Iwata, Shizuoka, introduced five region‑themed shaved‑ice varieties for a three‑day “Kakigori Tasting” event (18‑20 July 2026). Offerings include a “Shizuoka oden ice” that mimics the local stew using red‑bean warabi‑mochi, Shizuoka strawberry ice, Shizuoka matcha espuma, Kakegawa soy‑sauce ice, and a tiered “kin‑tsuba ice” with varying amounts of red‑bean paste. All items were discounted by ¥200 for the event.
