Surveys conducted by Zero Axel via the Cocomoola website reveal key consumer preferences regarding credit cards and ETC cards in Japan.
A survey of 100 individuals who used same-day issued credit cards found that 74% were motivated by attractive campaign benefits. When selecting these cards, 54% prioritized low or no annual fees. The most popular cards for same-day issuance were PayPay Card and Rakuten Card, both tied at 29%, followed by Epos Card and Mitsui Sumitomo Card (NL) at 23%.
In a separate survey of 300 ETC card users, 56.67% identified the absence of annual fees and issuance fees as their primary deciding factor. Rakuten Card was the most widely used ETC card at 30.33%, significantly outpacing Mitsui Sumitomo Card (NL) at 8.33% and d Card at 6.67%.
