Japanese craft brewery releases Lemon Lager using surplus regional lemons

A new craft lager called LEMON LAGER has been launched in Japan, created from grade‑out lemons supplied by JA Anzu in Chiba Prefecture. The beverage was developed jointly by Kokubu Shuto‑ken, a regional development organization, and Kiuchi Brewing Company, employing American aroma hops Citra and Amarillo to deliver a fresh citrus taste. The 4.5% alcohol, 330 ml drink is positioned as a sustainable use of otherwise wasted fruit, aiming to address local agricultural surplus while offering a genuine lemon‑beer flavour.

LEMON LAGER is sold online through the Kokubu Group’s ROJI Japan online store and Amazon, as well as at specialty liquor shops including EXIVIN in Tokorozawa and at Sogo department stores in Chiba and Omiya. The product’s price is ¥528 (tax included).
