Japanese department stores launch winter gift seasonal sales
Major department stores in Japan, including Iwataya in Fukuoka and Korinbo Daiwa in Kanazawa, have commenced their winter gift seasons.
Iwataya is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its Tenjin opening with a special lineup. The selection includes collaborations between the Iwataya Mitsukoshi Farm and local producers, featuring items such as Yame tea-infused sweets, specialty breads, and seafood sets from regional brands like Kayanoya and Uomasa.
In Kanazawa, Korinbo Daiwa has opened an Oseibo Gift Center to showcase the culinary culture of the Hokuriku region. The center features approximately 890 displayed items, including traditional Japanese sweets, fermented foods, and local sake. The selection includes a focus on products from the Noto Peninsula to support regional recovery efforts following the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
