Japanese discount retailers Shimamura and Seiyu roll out summer sale flyers

Shimamura released a new flyer for the period 25‑28 July 2026, highlighting a "Summer Big Discount" with store‑specific offers and a range of low‑price items such as 500‑yen summer apparel and 300‑yen accessories. The promotion runs across selected stores nationwide, with some locations noting altered opening hours or exclusions.

Seiyu published its own flyer for 22‑26 July 2026, primarily covering the Kanto region. Key promotions include domestic eel (unagi) priced from ¥2,365 for a single piece, alongside a variety of snacks, beverages and summer essentials priced between ¥83 and ¥106, such as Don Tacos, Calbee crisps, and bottled tea. Additional summer items like handheld fans and UV spray are also featured at discount prices.

Both retailers aim to attract shoppers with heavily reduced prices on seasonal clothing, food, and household items during Japan's peak summer shopping period.
