Japanese fast‑food chains roll out summer discount promotions

Tokyo‑based tonkatsu chain Matsu no Ya launched a "Oni Oroshi" coupon on 29 July 2026, allowing customers to purchase five selected dishes at a discount of up to ¥260, with the ¥500 "Oni Oroshi Ponzu Roast Cutlet Bowl" priced at ¥500. The coupon is usable at all Matsu no Ya outlets except a few excluded locations and remains active indefinitely.

Takoyaki specialist Gindaco began a three‑day "one‑coin" campaign from 29 to 31 July 2026, selling its "Sauce Yakisoba" for ¥540 (¥550 for in‑store dining) instead of the regular ¥734 price. The offer is available at participating Gindaco stores nationwide, excludes delivery orders and cannot be combined with other discounts.

Both promotions are limited‑time price cuts aimed at attracting customers during Japan’s hot summer season.
