Japanese food establishments announce seasonal oyster menus
Various Japanese food establishments are preparing for the seasonal oyster offerings.
In Mie Prefecture, the restaurant Yoshikiya has announced that its oyster set menus are expected to begin around mid-October once the oysters have sufficiently matured. Until then, the establishment will continue serving its current menu, including triploid oysters, which will be available only while supplies last.
Meanwhile, the okonomiyaki specialty chain Dondontei, based in Fukuoka, is launching a limited-time ‘Oyster Fair’ starting October 2, 2026. The fair features both Kansai-style and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, with customers able to choose between three or five oysters per serving. The promotion will be available at 46 locations across Kyushu and surrounding regions until stocks are depleted.
