Japanese food establishments launch seasonal autumn menus

Various Japanese establishments are introducing seasonal autumn menus.

In Okinawa, the Laguna Garden Hotel in Ginowan City has launched an autumn-themed dining program at its Japanese restaurant, ‘Wa-Ryū Dining Annon’. Starting September 1, the hotel is offering an autumn lunch buffet and formal kaiseki courses featuring seasonal ingredients such as saury, silver salmon, mushrooms, chestnuts, and sweet potatoes. The dinner service also includes live performances of the traditional Okinawan instrument, sanshin.

Meanwhile, the long-standing ramen chain Chinkai is running an autumn mushroom-focused fair through November 30 at its nine direct locations in Chiba and Ibaraki. A notable menu item is the ‘Mala Wood Ear Mushroom Set Meal’, which features a large portion of wood ear mushrooms served with a spicy mala-flavored minced meat sauce.
