Japanese Food Events in Hokkaido and Kumamoto Attract Thousands

The Japan Material Koshien Hokkaido tournament opened on July 25, 2026 at the Makomanai Seiki Hai Stadium in Sapporo, drawing about 6,000 visitors on its first day. The two‑day event showcased 18 regional food items, including Hokkaido octopus, spiny crab and corn, and featured a sky‑lantern display that illuminated the night sky.

In Kumamoto, Nissui Group participated in the Global Nature Positive Summit 2026 held at Kumamoto Castle Hall on July 14‑15. The company ran a hands‑on booth titled “Future Ocean – Complete Cultivation of Black Sea Buri,” hosted workshops for elementary students, and joined a panel discussion on sustainable aquaculture. The summit gathered 94 exhibitors to discuss nature‑positive technologies and policies.
