Japanese Food Recipe Contests Announced for 2026
Nishitetsu Hotels Co. and food‑manufacturer Kagome Co. have launched a "Kechaso" recipe contest that runs from 1 July to 31 August 2026. The competition invites anyone living in Japan to create dishes using a blend of tomato ketchup and Worcestershire‑style sauce. Submissions are accepted by post or online, and the winning entry will receive a pair‑dinner voucher for Nishitetsu Hotels and a Kagome drink gift set. Results are expected in early October, with an award ceremony planned on the hotel’s official website.
The Kagawa Prefecture Chinese‑cuisine association is running the "Sanuki Gyo1 GP" (Sanuki Dumpling Grand Prix) from 7 September to 13 October 2026. Amateur cooks aged five and above may submit original dumpling recipes that use locally sourced Kagawa ingredients. After a document review, finalists will cook 20‑30 dumplings on 7 November at a kitchen studio in Takamatsu for judging by professional chefs. The Grand Prix winner receives a ¥30,000 voucher usable at participating restaurants, plus additional prizes, and the winning recipe will be sold in association‑member stores the following year.
