Japanese hospitality venues announce special Silver Week culinary events

Various hospitality venues in Japan are hosting special culinary events during the upcoming Silver Week holiday from September 19 to September 23, 2026.

In Kanazawa, the Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel will host a ‘Silver Week Buffet’ at its Mare d’Or restaurant. To commemorate the twice-weekly flights between Komatsu Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport, the buffet will feature authentic Taiwanese dishes such as shark fin soup, crab rice, and traditional desserts like bubble tea and douhua. The menu will also include regional specialties from the Hokuriku area, including local oden and Toyama black ramen.

In Aso, Aso Farm Land’s Big Farm restaurant will bring back its ‘Nigiri Sushi Live Kitchen’ for the five-day holiday period. This event features chefs preparing fresh sushi, including tuna, salmon, and shrimp, directly in front of guests as part of their dinner buffet service.
