Japanese luxury hotels launch seasonal autumn afternoon tea menus

Several luxury hotels in Japan are launching seasonal afternoon tea menus to celebrate autumn flavors, with a particular focus on Shine Muscat grapes and Moroccan-inspired themes.

InterContinental Tokyo Bay is hosting an “Autumn Palace Afternoon Tea with Bacha Coffee” from September 15 to November 16. The menu features Moroccan influences, including a “Rose de Marrakech” macaron and savory items like “Quiche Lorraine Harira Style,” alongside desserts utilizing Italian and Japanese chestnuts.

Tokyo Dome Hotel’s Artist Cafe is offering a “Shine Muscat & Melon Afternoon Tea” through December 7. Located 150 meters above ground, the menu emphasizes fresh green fruits, including melon shortcake, Shine Muscat verrines, and savory options like Shine Muscat and Gorgonzola tarts.

In Osaka, the Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka Vignette Collection is presenting the “Shine Muscat Afternoon Tea ~Shine Jewels~” from September 1 to November 23. This menu uses gemstones as motifs for its sweets, such as amethyst shortcake and emerald mousse, paired with Shine Muscat-themed savory dishes and specialty drinks like Muscat wine tea.
