Japanese municipalities propose supplementary budgets for recovery and local development
Various municipalities in the Kansai region are proposing supplementary budgets to address local needs and recovery efforts.
In Fukui Prefecture, Eiheiji Town has approved an 88 million yen budget to address damages from recent heavy rains. Other municipalities, including Sakai, Ono, and Katsuyama, are preparing similar proposals. Meanwhile, Governor Ishida has stated that the prefectural government is still reviewing the scale and schedule for its own supplementary budget.
In Shiga Prefecture, Moriyama City has submitted a supplementary budget proposal including 663 million yen for the establishment and maintenance of childcare support facilities.
In Kyoto Prefecture, Kameoka City is proposing a 60 million yen budget for the acquisition of a former pig farm facility. Additionally, the city is hosting seminars to explore public-private partnerships in the food and agriculture sectors to foster regional innovation.
