Japanese pastry shops offer seasonal shaved ice menus

Various Japanese establishments are offering seasonal shaved ice (kakigori) menus for the summer and early autumn seasons.

Royal Pines Hotel Urawa, through its La Mora Pastry Shop, has launched its third installment of dolce shaved ice, available until September 30. The menu features seasonal flavors including Kumamoto chestnut with hojicha, ripe Fuyu persimmon with almond tofu, and 'Amarin' strawberries from Saitama Prefecture.

Patisserie Cuisson is also operating shaved ice service at its traditional house location. Due to previous issues with nuisance behavior, the shop has implemented specific dining restrictions, limiting service to groups of two or fewer and requiring guests to be junior high school students or older.
