Japanese railway companies announce themed quiz and mystery events

Several railway-themed community events are scheduled to take place in Japan during late 2026.

The Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line) will host a quiz rally from September 12 to October 18, 2026. Organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation and local revitalization councils, the event encourages participants to visit 10 specific points across the Arakawa, Kita, Toshima, and Shinjuku wards. Participants can collect quiz booklets at various stations and facilities to win prizes related to local landmarks and railway merchandise.

Separately, Keio Corporation and Odakyu Electric Railway will co-host a mystery-solving competition titled ‘Keio vs. Odakyu Line Love Battle’ from September 14 to November 30, 2026. This event spans 44 stations across both railway lines. Participants choose a side—Keio or Odakyu—and earn points for their chosen faction by solving puzzles at various stations. Prizes include department store vouchers, theme park passes, and hotel stays.
