Japanese retailers launch seasonal Halloween and autumn sweets

Various Japanese retailers and cafes are launching seasonal Halloween and autumn-themed food and merchandise.

Kaldi Coffee Farm has released a popular black cat series, including coin cases and clip keyholders, which have already sold out on their official online store. Kinokuniya is introducing a range of Halloween sweets, such as themed dessert bags featuring Frankenstein and black cat designs, as well as various shaped cookies.

In the cafe sector, latte Shimokitazawa is offering a customizable ‘Bear Ghost Halloween Plate’ featuring autumn ingredients like purple sweet potato, pumpkin, apple, and chestnut. Meanwhile, Yoku Moku has debuted its ‘Cadeau d’Automne’ gift set, which includes seasonal chestnut and sweet potato sablés alongside their signature ‘Cigare’ biscuits.
