Japanese retailers Lawson and Sushiro launch summer price promotions

Lawson Store 100 announced a "real price" campaign that will keep the prices of about 70 everyday food items – such as eggs, potatoes, onions, carrots, tofu, yogurt and kimchi – unchanged from July 22 until September 30. The move is intended to offset rising raw‑material costs and support household budgets during the summer.

Sushiro, the nationwide conveyor‑belt sushi chain, introduced a limited‑time menu with large‑cut salmon and eel priced at ¥110 each, along with several other summer‑focused dishes. The promotion runs from July 22 through early August and is limited to a set number of servings per item.

Both retailers are using aggressive pricing to attract price‑sensitive consumers during the higher‑cost summer period.
