Japanese swimmer Tomo Honda withdraws from Pan Pacific and Asian Games after dangerous‑driving indictment

Olympic silver‑medalist swimmer Tomo Honda was indicted on a charge of dangerous driving causing injury after a traffic accident. The Japan Swimming Federation announced that, in light of the indictment, Honda will not compete at the upcoming Pan Pacific Championships in the United States nor at the 2026 Asian Games scheduled for Aichi/Nagoya.
