Following the incident, the Japan Swimming Federation announced her withdrawal from the Pan Pacific Championships and the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya. The federation issued an apology, stating, “We deeply apologize to the victim and all concerned parties,” and committed to strengthening compliance education.
