Japan's Pavilion Highlights Culture and Technology at Thessaloniki International Fair
Japan is the honoured country at the 90th International Fair of Thessaloniki, scheduled for 5‑13 September 2026. The Japanese delegation, branded “Team Japan”, will occupy a 3,200 m² pavilion (Hall 13) featuring cutting‑edge technology, new car models, holographic displays, live demonstrations of calligraphy and martial arts, traditional kimono presentations, manga and anime exhibits, and a cosplay parade. An Asian‑cuisine restaurant will also be open to all visitors. The pavilion is designed around the Japanese "Takumi" philosophy of meticulous craftsmanship, and large decorative discs depicting Mount Fuji, cranes and origami will adorn the area around the Helexpo exhibition centre from late August. The initiative represents an investment of more than €1 million into the local economy, aiming to attract record visitor numbers for the fair’s centenary edition.
