Jaraguá do Sul delivers roof tiles to hail‑damaged families

The municipal government of Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, is continuing the distribution of fiberglass roof tiles and 6 mm cumuli to families whose homes were damaged by a severe hailstorm last week. On Saturday, March 4, materials were handed to 11 families, and the city plans to serve the remaining registered households throughout the week.

More than 70 families have been enrolled for assistance. The first humanitarian shipment from the state Civil Defence provided enough tiles and cumuli for 46 families – 312 tiles, 172 cumuli (6 mm), plus a smaller batch of 4 mm items. A second shipment is expected soon, covering roughly 30 additional families with 818 tiles and 104 cumuli. Each household can receive up to 30 tiles and four pairs of cumuli, enough to repair about 70 m² of roof.

The distribution follows a schedule coordinated by the municipal Civil Defence and the Housing Directorate, prioritizing families on the registration list to restore damaged roofs as quickly as possible.
