Jarosław Kaczyński interrogated for hours in Warsaw over ‘two towers’ probe

Jarosław Kaczyński, the president of Poland’s Law and Justice party, was questioned as a witness by the Warsaw‑Praga District Prosecutor’s Office on 10 June. The hearing began at 10 a.m. and concluded around 7 p.m., lasting roughly nine hours. Kaczyński was accompanied by two of his lawyers throughout the session.

The interrogation is part of the renewed investigation into the so‑called “two towers” case, which concerns plans to build two high‑rise towers on a plot owned by the PiS‑linked company Srebrna in Warsaw. Earlier, in March 2025, Barbara Skrzypek, a long‑time aide to Kaczyński, was also interrogated in the same investigation and died three days later, a death that sparked public controversy.

Prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba described the proceedings as conducted in a “good atmosphere” despite occasional procedural disputes, such as Kaczyński’s objection to the participation of a lawyer representing the alleged victim. The prosecutor noted that the written protocol runs to 40 pages and that no further procedural steps are currently planned.
