Jasa Raharja distributes Rp 1.27 billion for KM Virgo Transport 8 victims

PT Jasa Raharja has distributed a total of Rp 1.27 billion in compensation and medical coverage following the KM Virgo Transport 8 accident. As of September 26, 2026, the state-owned enterprise has provided Rp 850 million in compensation to 17 legal heirs of deceased victims and allocated up to Rp 420 million for the medical treatment of 21 injured individuals.

Of the 243 people involved in the incident, 161 have been evacuated. Reports indicate that 87 people survived without requiring medical care, while 21 injured persons have received treatment and returned home. The death toll stands at 53, with 25 victims identified and 28 still undergoing the identification process. Jasa Raharja President Director Muhammad Awaluddin personally delivered compensation to the family of Deny Dwi Saputra in Boyolali, Central Java, as part of the ongoing effort to fulfill the rights of the victims.
